Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after spring of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to force a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
